Synopsis: Asian box office hit Tombiruo is based on the novels by best-selling Malaysian author Ramlee Awang Murshid, and tells the story of the title character who, after being cast out at birth for his horrific facial deformity, is raised deep in the jungles of Borneo by a hermit. Tombiruo manifests supernatural powers, a psychic bond with the jungle itself, and grows to be a guardian of the jungle majesty, as illegal loggers threaten to destroy his home.
Bringing the first installment of Tombiruo’s story to the big screen marks the feature directorial debut for Australian special effects guru Seth Larney, whose VFX credits include Wolverine and The Chronicles of Narnia. The action-adventure film has garnered praise from critics and audiences alike, and is tracking to become one of the highest-grossing Malaysian movies of all time.
